Intermediate & Advanced Horseback riding SummerCamp

Open to intermediate and advanced riders only. This 4 day long, 5 hour camp day is filled with everything an experienced horse lover will dream of. Each participant will be assigned a horse to care for during the camp, although the horse ridden in the class may be different. The age group is 12 to 18 years. 

 

Activities:                         

  • A full 45 minutes riding lesson every day practicing different riding skills such as flatwork, jumping, dressage, bareback and vaulting.
  • Advanced horse lessons such as different horse feeding, tack, first aid, clipping, braiding, and lunging.
  • Gymkhana: Games on horseback. Riders are broken into teams and participate and participate in games such as, relay races, egg and spoon and musical horses
  • Hands on grooming and washing station, where riders can groom and tack the horse they will be riding.
  • Theory classes to become a better informed rider. Focus on a different aspect of horse care each lesson such as: body parts, conformation, anatomy, biomechanics, tack parts, identify horse’s age, poisonous plants, deworming, vaccination schedule.
  • Riding a dressage test and/ or a jumping training course that is being judged.
  • All participants will be awarded a certificate on their last camp day.

Dates

Dates for 2024 will be available soon. Camp hours: drop off 08.30 / pick up 13.30. Ask about the possibilities for a later pick-up time.

 

Rates

  • The fee per camp (4 days) is 250 JOD. Cancellation will not be accepted, whatever the circumstances may be. Receipts are available upon request.
  • Places are limited.
  • Registration is on first come first serve basis and is only confirmed once full payment 250 JOD and forms have been received, at least 10 days before the starting date.
  • Sibling and / or multiple weeks’ discount: Save 10 %.

 

Food & Drinks

Summer camp food is the best! There will be a snack buffet with cakes, fruits, chips, healthy bites and unlimited drinks (juices and fresh cold water). Everyone at the summer camp gets together for lunch. Some examples for the menu are pizza, pasta, hotdogs, toasties and pancakes. We will end the camp with a big barbeque party!

If the participant has a special diet or a food allergy, we just need to know ahead of time.

 

What you need to bring

  • A great daily dose of humor
  • Apron or oversized t-shirt/shirt for crafting to protect riding clothes.
  • Horse riding gear (or closed shoes and long pants).
  • Sun protection: hat, lotion, long sleeves.
  • A refillable water bottle
  • Fancy dress for your final day and accessories to pimp your horse to match

 

Extra measures

  • Hand-washing stations are provided and participants will be reminded to wash hands frequently.
  • A first aid certified staff is on the premises at all times.
