Clinics

At the Alia Alassaf Academy, we regularly organize equestrian clinics led by renowned professionals from around the world. Our clinics provide riders with the unique opportunity to train with internationally recognized coaches, riders, judges, and industry experts, bringing world-class knowledge and experience to Jordan.

Whether you are a beginner looking to build a strong foundation or an experienced rider aiming to refine your skills, our clinics are designed to inspire, educate, and help you reach your full potential. Participants benefit from personalized instruction, modern training methods, and valuable insights into horsemanship, dressage, jumping, rider fitness, horse welfare, and competition preparation.

By welcoming experts from different countries and equestrian backgrounds, we create an international learning environment where riders can broaden their knowledge, exchange experiences, and stay connected with the latest developments in the equestrian world.

Dressage demonstation

The passion for dressage in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is growing, capturing the hearts of equestrian enthusiasts nationwide. International dressage rider for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Karla Deir and International trainer George Martin are hosting, on a regular basis, dressage demonstrations at the Alia Alassaf Academy. Karla and George aim to elevate the sport’s profile within the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and position it prominently on the international stage.

Karla was the first dressage rider in history to compete internationally under the Jordanian Flag. Karla is a Jordanian and British national and is immensely proud to ride for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. She hopes to motivate, inspire, and encourage more men and women in Jordan and the Middle East to get involved with dressage and to pave the way for aspiring Jordanian dressage riders to compete nationally and internationally.

George brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. His career began in the eventing world, where he competed internationally; George decided to shift his focus solely to dressage. He has successfully trained and competed numerous horses up to the highest levels of dressage throughout his journey. George is Karla’s trainer and finds great joy in the intricate training process, focusing on kind, consistent, and correct training.

Showjumping clinics

One of our regular guest instructors is Joëlle van Wijk, a Dutch show jumping rider, certified ORUN instructor, and FEI rider. Joëlle visits Alia Alassaf Academy on a regular basis to lead specialized show jumping clinics, bringing her international experience and professional training methods to riders of all levels.

Her clinics cover every aspect of show jumping, from establishing a correct and balanced position on the flat to developing technical jumping skills over fences. Riders work on a wide variety of exercises, including gymnastics, gridwork, combinations, related distances, lines, bending lines, cavaletti training, rhythm and balance, adjustability of the stride, accuracy, turns, and course riding. Each exercise is carefully designed to improve communication between horse and rider while building confidence, technique, and athleticism.

Joëlle also provides training in competition preparation, course analysis, warm-up strategies, and effective riding under pressure, helping riders develop the skills and mindset needed to perform successfully in the show jumping arena. Whether you are taking your first steps over poles or competing at an advanced level, her clinics are tailored to support every rider's individual goals in a safe, structured, and motivating environment.
